#90 PDR Expo Tool Haul
===
Speaker: [00:00:00] One, two.
All right, welcome back, guys. We've made it to episode 90 of the All Access podcast from Dent Repair Now. Super excited to be here. 10 more shows to go until we make it to that big 100. Super stoked. Still not missing a week, still keeping it going, making it happen. Uh, and this should be out Monday morning at 7:00 AM Eastern, just like the regular shows.
Anyways, a couple changes on the background. We've got the Dent Reaper pink shirt. Picked that up at the expo. We have got Mac's second place [00:01:00] trophy. Mac, amazing job, dude. So proud of you. We've got the tool from Alex. That was the tool of the week last week. Haven't used it yet, but man, it looks good hanging on that background.
We got the Thaddle over here from our boy Thad at Dent Proof. You can't see it. Where's it at? Oh, right in front of Mac's is the pecker. It's a little wood knockdown from Thad. Uh, that is also back there. Got my goat, uh, judging badge, and we swapped out two hats. We added... Yep, right there. We added the Dent Proof hat and the new, that I didn't have or hadn't seen, the new Black Plague hat has made it to the background.
That Make Metal Flat Again hat is also from Black Plague. All right, so this week, a- and, and this has happened a few times. We'll see how rambly I get. Uh, I said I think it's gonna be a shorter show. Uh, I'm gonna do... I did a little tool haul, [00:02:00] just a little one, uh, from the expo. Um, a couple new things that I haven't seen, a couple old things, couple new things that are old things that are new again, if that makes sense, and some tips.
Uh, but I wanna talk about the, some of the stuff I picked up, uh, for me and or for Mac, um, and, and talk about it. So I'm gonna save the new Jon Jaeger tools for last. They're from Dent Craft or Jon Jaeger, uh, Brandon Schmitz collab tools. But I do wanna talk about this because... And I should have grabbed... I don't think I have one here.
Should have grabbed the new Ultra Thin Whale Tails from Dentcraft, uh, but it didn't. Um, so Ultra's Ultra-- or n- I'm sorry, Dentcraft's Ultra Thin Whale Tails used to be this shape right here, right? Like thin, shavable, or shaved, super bendable, and then they switched. I'm [00:03:00] not sure why they switched. I'm sure they had a good reason.
But they switched to instead of, um, just fanning out, they almost had like two little tips. And when I broke them, because I bend these all the time, right? These are amazing tools. Uh, but you gotta put a lot of torque into this light metal, and, uh, it will... Sorry, I'm really loud in my ears. I was listening to the Marketing Minute to make sure we were on the right page before I get there.
Um, I didn't listen to the whole episode. Don't worry. We'll listen to it together. Uh, anyways, th-they did a design change, and I ordered them, and I was like, "Man, these are different." Like, not that they suck, they don't suck, but they're not these. Well, then I heard, and I think these have been out for a year, so again, it's not new, but it's one of those things I sort of forgot about until I was at the Dentcraft booth picking up my new tools on Saturday, and I'm like, "Hey, wait a minute.
You guys [00:04:00] changed the Ultra Thin Whale Tails back, or you at least made the old ones a new option again, right?" And Jennifer was like, "Yep, that's right." So I ordered my two favorites. So this... Forgive me. I've ordered wrong tools because of this. I'm a little bit color blind. Mm, a little bit. So reds, reds and oranges can throw me off.
Blues and greens can throw me off I'm still not sure what those colors are. But anyways, this is either orange and black or red and black. To me, it looks orange and black, but it could be red and black. However, it is the 10-inch UWT, Ulta Thin Whale Tail from Dentcraft in the original old head. And this is just a g- an absolute go-to tool for me all the time.
I'm so happy to have that back in the arsenal. [00:05:00] I also picked up... I think they only came back, I could be wrong, Dentcraft people can answer this. I think they may have only come back with the two sizes. This one is the round about, I'm not even gonna pretend to read that, round about 30, maybe 32 inch, in that same head.
Awesome for getting down in doors, in tight braces, or even getting out into those, uh, edges of panels. Love these. They're must-haves. And, and I love ... Man, Dentcraft's definitely my favorite whale tail. I love the bendability, right? So you can just put your bend in and bend the other way, and then you've got your S curve for bouncing off of the glass, getting out to the panel, um, which is also what kills these little whale tails, or is part of what kills these little whale tails is that.
But anyways, super excited about having new old replacements for my ultra [00:06:00] thins. I still have the other ones, I still have the new ones. They work good, I just don't think they work as good as this. So if you were missing those, or if you had the old ones and then ordered, hadn't got new ones, and they weren't the same, order the new old ones.
Anyways, they are available. Uh, and there may be more sizes, but there certainly are these two sizes, which are two of my personal favorites. Um, anyways, the people at Dent Craft can definitely help you out with that. And if you only have the new version and you haven't the new style, if you haven't tried the old style that is new, order yourself a set of these.
These are... Man, Dent Craft tools are just, they're awesome tools. They're priced reasonably, and they just freaking work. So the ultra thin new old style heads, the ultra thins. Um, then, uh, up next in our tool haul... Oh, and obviously [00:07:00] not gonna be a tool of the week this week because the whole show is tools, unless I go on a rant.
I don't think I'm feeling ranty. We'll see. I was in the sun a lot today, in case you can't tell, so I'm a little bit cooked. Um, but I'm gonna stop and get some aloe on the way home, so we'll be okay. Anyways, I think I've talked about these tips o- on the podcast before. In fact, I'm almost positive I have.
However, when we were looking at Mac's dent, the beginner dent, I was like, "Dude, we gotta get you a set of these." So we did. These are the traction tips, if I can get them to show for you. The traction tips. Come on there to snap in. There it is. The traction tips from VIP. It's a, uh... Oh, get in there. Yeah. It is a three-piece set.
Um, they're machined down kinda like, uh, Black Plague's micro tips, kinda like the, um- Dent Slayer. It's [00:08:00] like just the R4 tip. It just threads and goes in. Now, these do have a collar, right? If it'll snap in. These do have a collar, so it will not thread all the way in, but they have a smaller print. But what makes these magical is...
I'm gonna stand up and see if I can get you real close, if it'll zoom in. What I really like about these is the texture of them. So I actually talked to Peter about it when they were coming out, and I believe these are not machined, but the heads are actually cast, uh, to get the texture. So the three different radii.
Radii? Radii? I think it's radii. Anyways, the three different radiuses. I'm not an English scholar, I'm a dent guy. Anyways, call it small, medium, and large. These are so nice, um, when you're getting, like, a weird push. So you're trying to go up and in and, you know, like, [00:09:00] maybe as you try to push, the tool wants to drag backwards.
This texture that lives on the tip, the very tip of the tool, is just enough to bite in, right? So think about if you've seen, like, the hedgehog tips, right? The super sharp ones for shrinking that push from multiple points at the same time. Really, really tiny ones of those, not so much for shrinking, but for traction, so you're not slipping.
So tool number two from the tool haul. That's like Sally sells seashells by the seashore. Should've done some, like, vocal exercises before tonight's show. Um, or today's show or this show or whatever you wanna call it. Anyways, those traction tips from VIP are Phenomenal. I find myself using them, eh, maybe not daily, absolutely weekly.
Uh, [00:10:00] Peter just comes up with some good, really solid, useful little tools, right? We were on a desperate search for his little, uh, hanging chain, uh, for Mac because, right, we needed a leverage point, and, uh, Andre was working the VIP booth by himself, and he sold all the chains, I think. Uh, we ended up grabbing one from Anson to borrow, uh, for leverage, but they're awesome.
And then, right, maybe a slightly underutilized tool from VIP, and I do find myself using this... Oh, hold on a second. We didn't silence our phone. Rookie move. Do not disturb. Sorry about that. Anyways, I do find myself using this, uh, nearly daily because being stuck in the shop where we're always doing bigger stuff, but it is specifically for me, right?
And I think Mac bought the... I think it's like a three-tip [00:11:00] set. But for me, it's actually labeled his blending tip, uh, but it is the purple leather tip from VIP. Dude, this tip on a knockdown just absolutely murders Medium crowns, like call it your standard fender dent crown, murder. Standard hip check into a door, crown above a body line, murder.
It just murders it out. Again, he has it labeled as a blending tip. I love this as a knockdown tip. Now, I used to play a lot of pool, like literally six or seven nights a week. These are essentially a pool tip. Pool tips get adhered with a super glue. You're going to knock the leather off of this. [00:12:00] Is DBAP still there?
Right. So when that happens, DBAP and just glue it back on. Or, right, order yourself a little pack of, uh, pool tips and replace the pool tip on here when you inevitably break this off or wear it out, put it on and shape it and reuse it. But this leather tip, mm, chef's kiss, Peter. Chef's kiss. Uh, I love this, right?
So added a new set of those, uh, back into Max arsenal, right? So that was our VIP haul, and then I'm going a little old school here, right? And actually, ironically, for as much glue pulling as I've done, for as much cold glue pulling as I've done, I've never owned a full set of the Glexo steel tabs, right?
Back from my Kiko days, and I still have them and use them all the time, I had the [00:13:00] plastic Kiko Glexo tabs, right? Partnership with Glexo, not like Kiko knocked them off. Um, but I always had the metal ones or the... Not the metal ones, the... Ugh, that was stuck in there from my presentation. From, from the, uh...
Anyways, from my Kiko kit. Note to self, don't fly home with cold glue attached to your tabs. But anyways, uh, Christina was nice enough to let us borrow like all of their cold glue stuff so I could really have a nice spread for my talk. Um, and I, I don't wanna use something and then it like turns into demo, so the only thing I used, used, uh, because they were demoing a ton of stuff, that I didn't keep brand new was the original Glexo set, right?
So we've got the crease, skinny crease, which is adhered in glue, right? So you got your stinny-- skinny crease, [00:14:00] your fatty crease
Small round, I would call that like maybe inch and a quarter. And big round, I would call that maybe two inches. Everything today, everything we're seeing today is small, tiny hail. Like the hail guys are crushing it with cold glue. Um, the bull kick from Sergio, the small and large shotgun, the AR f- auto return hammer from Matt at Dent Slayer, right?
The cold snap, uh, the small little, uh, Anson, uh, mini slide hammer kit that comes with three things and small tabs for finishing dents. I feel like, and this is, this is why, why I bought it, because I used it and I wanted to make it right, but this is why I wanted to make sure I brought this in as, in, as part of the tool haul OG [00:15:00] Glexo, right?
The black stuff is still amazing. I still use this every single week in the shop. I still have my original plastic Keco tabs loaded up with it, right? I'm gonna load up these with it. Now... All right, guys, I'm gonna share this with you. Little birdie sent me a text, not Kevin Bird. A, a li- a, a different little birdie sent me a text.
You know, I think that big cold glue on bigger tabs might be getting an upgrade. Stay tuned to more podcasts to find out what that looks like. But in the meantime, OG black Glexo on the big tabs, mint. Use it all the time. I use it on light creases, use it to finish stuff. I do use this on bigger [00:16:00] dents when it's the right kind of big dent to fix on.
But this kit, man, from Anson, well, from Glexo through Anson. I gotta take this tab. This tab is driving me crazy. We're gonna send you over there, buddy. I'm gonna re-glue you tomorrow 'cause I, I didn't wanna burn my fingers and didn't have everything I needed there. But anyways, this, the full kit, the full, the full Glexo kit from Glexo available at Anson PDR, it's a money kit, dude.
Like, and this is, uh, no BS, I'm pretty sure that the black Glexo stick that I bought in 2019 when I was working for Keco and demoing, when Keco had the collaboration with Glexo and put the, the kit together, I believe that I'm still on my original hundre- hundred, I think it's 100 grams, my original stick of black [00:17:00] Glexo for seven years.
Are you kidding me? It's amazing. Anyways, go check it out if you don't have it. And don't forget, even though everything that's getting shown today is cold glue for little dents and finishing and hail and fast, mm, also great for big stuff. However, listen to me when I tell you, it's not for starting every dent.
You gotta be smart about it. We're supposed to get a copy of my cold glue presentation from the crew at Convax at the PDR Expo. When and if we get that, I'll be putting it on my YouTube for free. So even if you didn't get to go to the PDR Expo, you may be able to get that info on cold gluing for free on my YouTube's channel.
All right. We've got two types of tools to go And I didn't know about either of these, so these were brand new to me [00:18:00] at the show, and I was like, "I must have them both." So the first thing, you guys know I'm a big fan of Keith, Keith's Black Plague straps, and I thought I had all of them. Keith, you gotta step up your marketing game, dude, because if I didn't know you had these, the world doesn't know you have these.
So I have for a few years, a couple of years at least, I've been using this tab, right? So I've done tons of glue lessons with this. I have, uh- Saved multiple quarter panels from replacement with these. This is a twofold, and I wish Keith would make a, uh, like a throwaway version of this 'cause they're kind of hard to clean.
But it's got twofold, so you can grab two planes, and it has a metal bar in it. So the Keco, I don't have one here, the Keco tab track adapter, right, the blue [00:19:00] T, uh, slides right on there, and then you can U-bolt or they have another adapter for the lateral tensions, right? You can grab onto it and pull. Mo- mo clamps?
I think it's mo clamps if you're in a body shop. The mo clamps will grab onto these. These things are phenomenal I like them because they grab two planes. I like them because, like on a door jamb, right, you've got the quarter coming in, and then the jamb goes in and returns and goes in. You can take this and follow, because it's just fabric, follow that, and then grab the outside and pull.
You can grab onto just one side and just pull the outside of a door if you need a big bite. Well, at the show, I saw this. It is like a double wide of the one I just talked about that I use all the time. This, ooh, I've doubled and tripled up plenty of those. Man, to have it all in [00:20:00] one big old strap tab. I can't- I don't think we can say tab straps, 'cause I think that's Keco.
But this strap that glues on like a glue tab is amazing. Ah, I cannot wait. In fact, next week, next week? Next week I've got an advanced glue pull training for some body men, uh, and we're supposed to have a new, um, teaching car coming into the shop, like a junker that we can do anything to. Hoping to really put this through the paces a little bit.
Um, again, available at blackplaguepdr.com or deadrattabs.com if you can't spell plague Very cool and reasonably priced. I don't, I don't remember what the price was, but like all of Keith's straps are like super cheap. Like if you don't pay for the whole order on the first job, you're not charging enough.[00:21:00]
Um, and that's not even like a, "Oh, it's just one dent to pay for this." I mean, that's like literally these things are stupid cheap. Uh, so in that line, right, I don't even have glue on this one. Been using this for a couple of years. This is a skinnier and slightly thinner, um, tab or strap. Tab, strap. Um, been using this for a couple years.
These two, right, that original first one I showed you and this came out at the same time, trying to show you the upgrades. So this is great again for reaching into door jams. Uh, Mac wrecked his BMW several years ago and prior to these being out and I used, what did I use? Like four sets of Anson, uh, tension straps because I could go in and around the return and I needed to pull the whole jam out, right, like just a little bit.
Well, these would've been an upgrade [00:22:00] and this now is an even bigger upgrade, right? Same double pull, but this has gotta be every bit of four or five inches of throat to get in there. Man, if you are doing heavy collision pulls at all or even heavy, heavy lateral tension pulls. We did, um, I know I talked about this on the podcast, uh, when we did that BMW trunk lid hatch, BMW hatch, it was technically a hatchback for Level Up.
That took me to school and I spent days on and like, ugh. Anyways, we were pulling hard in multiple spots across to spread this way, right? These and this would've been huge helps to, uh, to spread that out. So anyways, go check out the entire line of straps available at [00:23:00] Black Plague PDR, but specifically if you don't have them yet, check these out.
Uh, I'm headed down to Fort Lauderdale this week. We are headed down to Fort Lauderdale this week. We're doing a little, uh, couple days of training at Derek and Grace's The Dent Demon. I'm excited to see that shop. That shop is badass from what I've seen in the pictures. But anyways, these straps are going with me to Florida and we're gonna do some heavy, heavy pulls down there and try to level all those guys up.
Uh, super excited for that. And last but certainly not least, now I've not used this, however when I came into the shop tonight Open the box. Well, I went to open the box, and the box was already open. And I looked in the box, and there were two tools, and I was like, "I thought this was a four-piece set." And then I looked on my cart, and there was a third tool.
And I'm like, "Man, I still thought this was a four-piece set." And then I looked at the truck that [00:24:00] Mac is doing hail damage on, and it, it turns out it actually indeed is a four-piece set. Uh, so the little shit Mac beat me to the punch. Uh, these came in, like, at the end of the day Friday when I was already gone.
Um, he's already got to use my new tools. So these are a collaboration between Johnny Yeager and J- uh, Brandon Schmitz and Dentcraft. So John was at PDR Expo, and he's like, "Dude, me and Brandon made some tools for, um... made some tools with Dentcraft. You gotta come over and check 'em out. I'll give you a demo."
I'm like, "Okay, cool. I really want to." And John's a freaking amazing guy, and Brandon's an amazing guy, and Dentcraft's an amazing company. So we're talking about it, and he's like, "Yeah, but..." So they're for getting out, and bending, and working towards edges of panels or really wherever you need to go, but they're shaved down, and they talked about the different shave process.
Well, these [00:25:00] things... So I didn't buy it yet, but he's like, "Man, you should probably buy two sets." Good sales technique, by the way. And you can bend them, but these are them, right? So this is a small one, so you can see the whole thing on camera. So offset handle, uh, similar to, like, the, uh, Hale's Angels and the Excaliburs, right?
So very comfortable in the hand, good drive left or right. Look at that shave. Let me see if we can... Shaved down good. Uh, it, it looks like same material. In fact, we can do a little side-by-side comparison. It looks like the same material as the Whale tails. All right. Maybe just a hair thicker than the ultra thin whale tail.
Three sizes, four si- four sizes. Uh, bendable, right? So you can bend [00:26:00] them to... Oh, that's a little stiffer than a whale tail. But you can put a little arch to get where you need to go. Uh, I'm thinking these are gonna be great, like the, uh, dense layer butter knife is, for having great drive to push your way into edges of panels.
So we've got orange, let's call that maybe 14 inches, give or take. Yellow, yeller, uh, probably 16, 18 inches. All the same shape. Uh, they slightly go... Oh, those two are about the same size.
Maybe the two small ones are the same thickness, and the two big ones are the same thickness perhaps. Get a pretty good high, a nice kick. Blue, probably 24 inches. Teal, that's blue. That's blue. I mean, it's not like [00:27:00] royal blue, but I would call that a blue. Um, that is awesome. And then... Man, I'm thinking this might even shoot you through some taillights and up towards, up under the sail panel.
This one is probably 30-ish, I think. Let's see how it compares to... Yeah, 30-ish, give-ish or take-ish. Uh, anyways, little thicker. Maybe not even a little thicker. Shorter shave though, right? But you're not gonna, you're not gonna send this in like you would send a whale tail. I'm excited. I feel like those are gonna be tools that just get you out of some jams.
I will report back as I use them. I'll give John and Brandon some feedback on them. But from what I can see, it's gonna be an awesome tool. And they're Dentcraft, so you know the temper's right, you know the bendability's right, the durability's right. Like, I'm pretty, [00:28:00] pretty freaking stoked for those. So not a gigantic haul.
Um, and then I guess an honorable mention. Yeah, we'll call it an honorable mention. Uh, if you're listening to this and you haven't been on my Instagram, go back a handful of videos. That new BLE light stand. Oh, actually we talked about it. Never mind. The BLE light stand would be also technically, I think, on my expo haul, uh, because I got it right before the expo and it launched at the expo.
Uh, but Vinny talked about it last week. So that BLE light is awesome. Lot... This was my first full week, uh, using it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Think I need to buy another one. So I've got t-two... my two main stands instead of that and a DNE maybe. Yeah, I think we're gonna make it happen. Yeah, I think there's another BLE light stand in my future.
All right. So that's like a tool episode of the week. Uh, no tool [00:29:00] episode of the week. Uh, let's jump into the marketing minute and see... I don't even know what I talked about because I stopped listening by the intro because I didn't wanna spoil it for either of us. So without further ado, let's check out, I think it's episode eight of the PDR Marketing
Speaker 2: Minute.
And now it's time for the PDR Marketing Minute, your weekly quick tip to help you build your PDR business.
Speaker: Welcome back, episode eight of the PDR Marketing Minute. I'm your host, Gene Fette. Let's get started. In the last episode, the topic was ask. Ask for reviews. This week, we're gonna tell you how not to do that and what rules not to break. Uh, the first off is you don't wanna have your customers using your device, or [00:30:00] for you guys with a retail shop, even your Wi-Fi.
Uh, Google and Yelp, uh, they have algorithms in place that if they see reviews keep coming from the same IP address, which is the, the address of your, uh, network, uh, they're gonna start blocking those reviews. So don't do that. Have the customer do it on their own network, on their own time, maybe at home Don't trade reviews.
What do I mean by that? Uh, there were some guys that got together and said, "Hey, we can, we can sort of get the review ball rolling. Uh, we'll leave each other some honest reviews," but reviews nonetheless. Well, when that happened, uh, and I was in that group, um, uh, I didn't really look at it as trying to game the system, it was trying to get the ball rolling.
Well, Google was who we tried it with, and man, they didn't like it. Uh, reviews started disappearing even with all five-star ratings, um, in reviews. Uh, [00:31:00] review numbers, uh, went down, so it was 4.5 stars instead of five stars. So don't try to game the system. It doesn't work. They're way smarter than us Don't offer to pay for reviews.
Uh, people will see right through that. Uh, you know, when you're offering, uh, "Hey, I'll, I'll knock 50 bucks off if you leave me a great review," it's not cool, and, uh, people can see right through that. Just stick with good, honest reviews. Last but not least, don't have your family leave reviews for you. People are gonna find out what your name is, and when they see that Mr.
Smith left a review for Smith's Dent Repair, and Bobby Joe Smith left a review for Smith's Dent Repair, again, we need your reviews to be legit and on point. It's a red flag when people start seeing things like that. So those are your don'ts. Good news, my review system, my review system is almost ready. Uh, I think I need about another week [00:32:00] or so, and, uh, and it'll be up and running.
I'm gonna show you where to get re- reviews right away, um, ways to steer people to the right sites to leave you reviews and help you build
Speaker 2: everything up. Head over to pdrmarketingminute.com, and on there I ha- it's just, just a one-page site right now, but I have a form
Speaker: where you- All right, so you don't need to listen to the pitch for the review system that doesn't exist.
It did exist, but it doesn't exist anymore, and I don't even know that it would be that relevant. However, however, I was talking to a friend, actually Dan Rikehe, the dent guy out of Rochester, New York. Um, he got a one-star review the other day, and I'm like, "You do have so many reviews, it probably doesn't even matter for you at this point.
Like, it's not gonna hurt you." And I can't... He was in the, like, either mid-7 or 800s of reviews, and he's like, "Yep, my little buddy Gene dropped that review system all those years ago, and I put it into play, and look where I'm at now." I [00:33:00] should've listened to my own advice and been a, been a bit more diligent, uh, like Dan was.
Um, but, like, solid advice in that episode for sure. Uh, I wouldn't... Um, I think the getting reviews from your location on your Wi-Fi, your IP, I think that's still legit. I think, I think that could be frowned upon if all of your reviews come from there. Definitely, definitely don't pay for reviews. Like, so what that does w- if one, if Google were to find out and, like, like, that would kinda get a little tough for them to find out, but they would definitely slap you on the wrist for that It ruins your customer experience, right?
All the time we have people come in and we're at 350 some reviews here, uh, just on Google, you know, combined. We have probably 500 reviews across the, the interwebs. All the time we get people come in and they're like, "Man, uh, your reviews are amazing." [00:34:00] We even have some people come in and they're like, "There's no way that you can have that many five-star reviews.
You can't be that good. You gotta be doing something wrong." And then we get done with the repair and they're like, "Oh my God, I can see why you have so many five-star reviews. I need to go leave you one too." Or we get that right at the end. If our MO was to ask or to offer payment or discount for review, that would throw all that credibility immediately out the door to that customer.
Do not pay for reviews, ever. Bad idea. Um, the friends and family, oh, you could have friends and family leave you reviews. I wouldn't have a bunch of them do it at the same time. Uh, but I don't even think they-- on Google, I don't think they show last names. I think it would be like Gene F. or Bobby P. So you probably wouldn't run into that.
If you're going to have friends and family leave you reviews, have them leave [00:35:00] real reviews, not like, "Uncle Jimmy's the best," right? I mean, I like Uncle Jimmy. We used to call him Crazy Uncle Jimmy, but he's a good dude. But anyways, um, don't, don't be afraid of that. Uh, the review trading back and forth, still scared to death of that, right?
Watched some review numbers go down even with five stars. It was weird. Do not try to game the system. Just do good work. Be diligent about asking. Uh, and right, if you're not using a CRM, get a CRM and let them automatically chase the reviews to your customers. Uh, a tech tip for getting reviews in case I didn't share it on the last review show, 'cause it was a couple weeks ago.
Send them in the evening, like right after dinner when everybody sits down on the couch and pulls out their phone. If they get that text, it would be easy to stop and be like, "Oh, oh shit, I did mean to leave Gene a review." Ba, ba, ba, [00:36:00] ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba. Done. Right? So dinner time, shortly thereafter, not a bad place.
Uh, I don't like texting early in the morning. Email's a good time in the morning 'cause it's kind of private, but I wouldn't text in the morning. Anyways, that is that. Uh, what do we got coming up? Not a ton. So le-let's have a discussion about this. I wanna hear from you. Please reach out and those of you that reach out, honest to goodness, I love it.
I love it. Really, like, I work hard at this. I put time into it. Like, it's Sunday night at eight fifteen. Like, dropped my mom off after dinner, stopped back at the shop to record. Like, I put some time into this. To hear from you all, right? From my listeners It's, it's much appreciated. I don't think I can, I don't think I could give you enough, express enough gratitude [00:37:00] into what it means to me when I hear from you guys.
So thank you so much. Thank you for, thank you for being a listener. Uh, and I really truly hope that, you know, the stuff that we're putting out, uh, is helping you. That's why we do it. But I honest, like, it really truly warms my heart to hear from you guys. Thank you so much This isn't a feel-good, this is a, like, I'm trying to work out how to bring things to you.
So I have teased a few times over the year, this year, uh, about like a soft skills seminar, like sales, marketing, AI, business, et cetera, et cetera. Well, I'm reading a book, listening to a book that, that I've listened to a few times, and I like to go back and, and listen to books again and pick up new things.
And I, I personally, this year, have gone through a couple different, um, programs that are, uh, online, right? That are one hour a day, like [00:38:00] 12 to 1 Eastern or something like that. The logistics of throwing a seminar are a lot. Like a lot, a lot. If we're gonna bring people here, we're gonna fly them in, right?
Then we gotta cover their hotel, their airfare, a fee for being here. Like, it's a big ask, and then it's a big ask for you, right? If you wanna come and learn tips and techniques, it's a big ask to ask you to leave your house and go to the airport and buy an airplane ticket and fly here and hang out here for a couple of days and eat out for a couple of days.
And it's fun, and I love seminars and I love getting together and I love trade shows. I, I really love doing all that stuff, but it's a big, hard, expensive ask Would you all, right, 'cause I did get some interest in the soft skills seminar, but not enough to, like, really pull it off, right? In fact, it would probably be, like, barely a break even or [00:39:00] potentially a lose money by the time we put it all together and shut the shop down and everything like that.
I have enjoyed my classes that I've been taking that come out live once a day, and then there's a replay and everything like that, of course. But, like, you can literally jump on the live and ask questions. Would you guys be interested if I could put together, like, a probably would be a five-day soft skills seminar that happened once a day live with Q&A and everything like that?
And then in the back end, you can get your access to your replays and your notes and everything. Is that, is that something that would work for you guys? I think it could work. Logistically, it's a whole lot easier to make that happen, right? I could still get some experts to come on, but nobody needs to fly anywhere, right?
We just gotta plug in for a day. That's the feedback I want from you guys. Are you interested in [00:40:00] a virtual soft skills, right, sales, marketing, AI, advertising, CRM? Are you interested in a class, series of classes like that? W- was that something you would play ball with? Physical skills you can't do virtual, not, not 100%.
Soft skills I 100% can do virtual. So let me know. Let me know what you think. All right, we've got MTE coming up. We're not really gonna dive into MTE too much yet. But we've got MTE coming up in a handful of months. Go. The answer is go. I'm not sure. Go. But I c- go. In case you missed that, go to MTE. I've had a bunch of people reach out, "How do I network better?
What do I do?" Go to MTE. That's your answer. Just get up and go. That's it. All right, guys. Thank you so much for [00:41:00] listening and/or watching and/or both. Um, I will give you feedback on these new tools as I use them. Uh, if yous u- if you have used any of these tools and you are in love with them, let me know. All right, guys, until next week.
There's the outro. I'll see ya. Have a good one.
